2016 Baroque on Beaver Music Festival

Baroque on Beaver is a joyful series of concerts offered each summer on Beaver Island, Michigan, located 30 miles off the coast of Lake Michigan. Concerts include orchestral, choral, solo, and chamber ensemble, featuring professional performers. The performances focus on classical music, but you may hear jazz, popular, Broadway, spirituals, or whatever strikes the musicians’ fancy. “B-on-B” celebrates its 15th season in 2016, running from July 29th through August 7th. "B-on-B" is the signature event of the Beaver Island Cultural Arts Association.

Fourth Coast Ensemble's final concert of the 2015-16 season SONGS OF THE FOURTH COAST explores vocal chamber music composed by Great Lakes-region born & bred musicians.  Enjoy the versatility of this vocal ensemble as they present quartets written by Wisconsin-native Daron Hagen (The Voice Within) right alongside solos by the same composer (Figments) and Minnesota-native Libby Larsen (3 Cowboy Songs), as well as works by Michigan's David DiChiera (Black Beads and A Letter to Sarah).

Schubertiade Shuffle with CHAI Collaborative Ensemble

A twist on the Schubertiade events that take place every year in late January and early February, musicians of CHAI present music of Romantic Era composers Robert Schumann, Louis Spohr and Johannes Brahms, as well as Schubert himself. Adding yet another spin on this program is the fact that it will be audience-driven: CHAI chose the selections, and the audience decides the order of the program.

CAIC Winter Workshop: Russian Art Song with Lynn Kompass

Guest teaching artist Lynn Kompass (University of South Carolina) leads singers and pianists in this intense three-day workshop.  In addition to an overview of diction and unique language skills required for singing in Russian, participants will gain insight into the history, development, and performance practice of this exquisite and varied repertoire, culminating in a final participants' recital on Sunday.

Lake Forest Civic Orchestra is proud to present the second concert of its 2015-16 season.

This concert, titled "Lifting Every Voice", will feature the orchestra's newly appointed Music Director Robert Nordling conducting Auber's Overture to Le Cheval de Bronze, Barber's Knoxville: Summer of 1915 Op. 24, Franck's Psalm 150, and Vivaldi's Gloria.

A free public reception follows the concert.

2015 Collabortive Works Festival Master Class: Craig Terry

Craig Terry, who appears regularly in recital with such esteemed singers as Christine Brewer, Stephanie Blythe, Joyce Didonato, Susan Graham, and Luca Pisaroni in venues such as the Kennedy Center, Ravinia Festival, and Carnegie Hall, will lead the Festival’s annual Master Class at PianoForte on the afternoon of September 11, 2015.  This year’s master class will focus on American art song, and will feature rising young stars of Chicago’s classical vocal music scene, accompanied by CAIC artistic staff.
